The John Davies international
summer camp will take place in Bideford, Devon, in August 2011
as the Western Area once again links up with Team Bath and hosts
Kingsley School.
The camp, which launched
in 2010, will run from Saturday 13 to Saturday 20 August and is
open to boys and girls aged 12 to 19 years.
Lead coaches Sandra Klinger,
Simon Ward and Eric Zymna will be joined by guest coach Jurgen
Klinger, Team Bath’s high performance coach.
After taking part in the
2010 camp an English cadet international said: “I had an amazing
week and experience, I can’t wait until till next year’s camp”.
A junior British international
said: “The camp was outstanding and ran an excellent full training
programme, without doubt the best in this area ever.”

Co-organiser and coach
Simon Ward was very impressed with how the inaugural camp unfolded.
“The success of the 2010
camp was down to the group we had, they all bonded so well and
nobody was left out,” said Ward who is working with Sandra Klinger
to develop the 2011 structure.
“We had some great judo
training which mixed so well with the afternoon sporting sessions
such as rope climbing, spinning and many other activities. We
had a good balance of hard training and fun things with good living
areas with our own cinema, food and transport to visit to take
trips off site.
“It was great first camp
and this year we are hoping to attract more athletes from Europe
and hopefully the national squads.”
The camp costs £230 for
an early booking before May or £270 after that date. Discount
to coaches with large parties and day-by-day training is available
on request.
