Osterley Judo Club will
become the sport’s latest outfit in the capital when it launches
on Friday 19 November.
The Hounslow club will
be based at Osterley Sports and Athletics Centre and will be run
by Misha Kljutic who will remain as a support coach at the highly-regarded
Ealing Judo Club.
The 43-year-old, who hails
from Serbia, is a British Judo Association level 2 coach and was
awarded his coveted 1st Dan black belt in 2009.
Kljutic has recently started
to deliver judo in local schools which is one of the main reasons
for the club forming.
Tim Edwards, British Judo’s
Club Development Officer in London, said: “Misha has worked incredibly
hard to begin coaching at local schools in Hounslow and his new
club will be an exit route for those judoka’s to continue their
development in a club setting”.
“We expect Osterley to
attract youngsters and adults in good numbers and look forward
to seeing the new club open next week.”
Karen French, British Judo’s
London Development Manager, said: “Misha is very ambitious person
and is very excited to open his own club. The London Area has
a lot of faith in his coaching and ability to deliver first-class
judo sessions.”
Osterley Judo Club will
train at Osterley Sports and Athletics Centre, 120 Wood Lane,
Isleworth, TW7 5FF. Juniors will train at 19:00 – 20:00 at a cost
