In 2007 British Judo took
the necessary decision to deny Willesden Judo Club membership
of the BJA as a club due to concerns over the infrastructure,
systems and procedures at the club.
As part of the enforcement
of the sanctions the BJA was applying to the club at the time,
we informed competition organisers of the clubs removal from the
Association and requested that entries for events not be accepted
from the club.
A new management team
has taken over the running of the club. This new team, made
up of ex players from the club, have worked intensively and closely
with the BJA London Development Team and during that period have
completely rebuilt the club from the ground up.
This work will continue
as the club continues towards its development targets and works
towards gaining Club Mark. Willesden Judo Club 2011, as
it wishes to be named, is now a club in development and are on
the whole a club made up of junior novice players.
We are sure that the judo
community will support the players and coaches as they build and
improve their club.
