2011-2012
England Squad Members
(Updated
23 November 2011)
Firstly
we would like to congratulate all of the players who have made
the 2011/2012 England Judo Squad. We would also like to acknowledge
the Coaches and Clubs behind the players, their success is always
a reflection of the support they have had.
The
England staff like to ensure there is opportunity for any players
who may have missed out on selection at this time, performances
in training and in competition over the coming year will continue
to be monitored in order to select anyone who achieves the standard.
We are also happy to receive input from players’ Club coaches
so that we can identify opportunities to assess any player.
Equally
though, it must be reminded that anyone slipping from the standards
of professionalism and commitment expected in the England Squad,
can be deselected.
The
journey does not stop here- it is just the beginning.
Finally,
thank you to the Performance Parents out there, without their
continued support there would be no England Squad.

MISSION
STATEMENT
The
English Squad program is a development program, which aims to
prepare players for progression up the BJA's World Class Performance
pathway, with the ultimate goal delivering players into the Great
Britain Junior programme with the necessary technical, tactical,
physical, mental and lifestyle attributes to achieve success at
international level.
The
key objectives are:
TO
IDENTIFY young judo players with long term potential.
TO
DEVELOP (both physically and mentally), by using the
right training at the right time, taking into consideration the
different needs of early and late maturers.
TO
EQUIP these players with the skills, experience and knowledge
needed to build a strong foundation for future achievements and
long-term success.
