2007 Annual General Meeting

The 2007 AGM took place on Saturday 3rd November at the Henry Ford College, Loughborough with 55 BJA clubs in attendance.

Scott McCarthy (Chief Executive), Densign White (Chairman) and Colin McIver (Performance Director) all made presentations, which provided an overview of the Association’s activities during the 12 months covered by the AGM. These can be downloaded using the links at the bottom of the page.

At the BJA Council Meeting, which took place on Friday 2nd November, Mick Leigh was voted in as a new Vice President of the Association and this was announced during the AGM. Mick has given a very long service to judo and the British Judo Association, and has been at the forefront of Kata in Great Britain for many years.

There were three places on the Board up for election this year. Barry James and Roy Inman were re-elected. The third place, which has been vacant since Karen Roberts stepped down from the Board to take her position with the Association, was taken by Mac Abbotts (nominated by the Midland Area). There was no election as there were only three candidates for the three places available.

Overall it was a very positive AGM, which closed with President, George Kerr making special mention to Densign being voted on the British Olympic Associations’ Executive Board, which is a great honour for judo
