British Championships - Important Notes
COACH PASSES:
From 1st October 2008, ALL Coaches MUST produce a VALID BJA Coach
Award card in person at BJA centrally administered National Events
in order to be eligible for the following:
• To gain entry to BJA
centrally administered National Events (ALL Coaches, whether coaching
or not on the day, will be eligible for a 50% reduction on the
spectator fee on production of their BJA Coach Award card, except
for the GB World Cup)
• To gain mat side
access with their player at a BJA centrally administered National
Event (Only one coach per player will be permitted at any one
time).
SWEATING OFF:
If a player is seen by BJA staff or officials sweating off they
will be asked to go straight to the scales and weigh in. A toilet
visit will be allowed but no more running. If the athlete
refuses to go to the scales they will be withdrawn from the competition.
DRAW: The draw for the
event will take place on the Friday (9 th October) evening and
be posted at the weigh in. The BJA retain the right to redraw
any category pre event.
PHOTOGRAPHY:
We intend to have various accredited photographers at this event
and we are planning to have some form of filming and internet
broadcast of some mats (connections permitting). Whilst
no child’s name will be published alongside their image and all
of those conducting the filming and or photography will have undergone
the necessary checks the BJA’s Lead Child Protection officer,
Julie Moores, needs to know as soon as possible of any players
entered who for legal or child protection reasons cannot have
their image published in the public domain.
You should note that if
no notification is received the BJA will be using images taken
at this event for media and publicity purposes in order to promote
the positive aspect of our sport.
- Shimewaza is permitted and Kansetzu-Waza is NOT permitted
in the Cadet (14 & 15 year olds) Boys and Girls event. (AMENDED)
- Golden Score will be two minutes in all events and weight
categories.
- Competitors MUST enter the British Championships in the weight
category, which qualification was gained. Players will not be
permitted to change their weight category at registration; they
will be withdrawn from the event if they fail to make their
entered weight.
- If a weight category has three or fewer players then that
category will be withdrawn. The players of the withdrawn category
will be offered the opportunity to compete in the weight category
above. If the heavy weight category is withdrawn, the entered
players will not be able to compete. The BJA cannot be held
responsible for any financial loss of the players entered, however
entry fees will be refunded. Once the closing date has past
the organisers will endeavour to contact all players that maybe
affected by a weight category being withdrawn from the event.
- All finals and medal presentations will be held at the end
of competition on both days.
- Blue & white judogis are compulsory for this event.
