The 2011 British Championships
will see 695 of the country’s brightest young judo players compete
at iceSheffield on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 October.

Saturday will see the
cadet boys and girls (born in 1996 and 1997) take to the mat along
with the pre cadet boys (born in 1998 and 1999).
Sunday sees the junior
men and women (born in 1993, 1994, 1994) join the pre cadet girls
(born in 1998 and 1999) as they bid to be crowned British Champion.

will compete for British glory
The coveted domestic
title is one of the greatest achievements a young judoka can accomplish
in Britain and ensures high drama as hundreds of highly-promising
judoka from the four home countries battle it out in the steel
city.
Competitors in action
on Saturday include reigning British Champion Eric Ham who moves
up to the cadets field this year and also steps up a weight to
-42kg.
Fellow 2010 gold medallist
Ramazan Karimov, who triumphed as a pre cadet in the +66kg field
last year, fights in the cadets version of the -81kg category.
On Sunday, Philip Awiti,
the Portugal Junior European Cup winner, will compete in the -100kg
category.
British Trials and Portugal
Junior European Cup winner Freya Dechastelain tackles the -52kg
category while 2011 European Cadets Champion Katie-Jemima Yeats-Brown
takes to the -63kg competition.

Amy Livesey, a bronze medallist in Portgual, fights at -70kg.
