British internationals
will join forces to represent their areas at the National Teams
Championships on Saturday 9 July at the English Institute of Sport
in Sheffield.
The highly-charged one-day
event is one of the most popular in Britain as friendships are
put on hold, rivalries are renewed and judoka battle for bragging
rights along with the all-important National Team Championship
title.
As the action-packed event
unfolds fiercely-contested bouts will take place amid a fantastic
atmosphere that could rival any national sporting occasion as
fans, teams and club members spur on their judoka and converge
along the edges of the mats.
The senior men’s category
will feature 11 teams and include last year’s winners, the North
West, while the senior women’s category sees seven teams compete
with reigning champions Scotland again expected to be one of the
teams to beat.
