2012 British Schools Championships – ENTRY TO OPEN SATURDAY 7th JANUARY 2012

British Judo Events Team is delighted to announce that entry is now open for the 2012 British Schools Championships, the event will take place on the Saturday 10th March 2012 at iceSheffield.

All entrants must be in full time education – Academic Years 6-13. 

Closing date for entries is strictly Friday 24th February 2012 OR when 450 entries have been received.

The entry process can now be completed online and can be submitted from schools, clubs or individuals. 

Entry via the online system takes only a couple of minutes to complete and will ensure that your entry is processed correctly and the payment is processed immediately via our secure system.

When entering online you MUST provide a school/institution email address. For your entry to be accepted into the event we will require confirmation from your school/institution that you do attend their institution and confirmation of your school year. This will be completed via email.

By using the online booking system it will eliminate the chance of your entry getting lost in the post, processing errors of your details and allow a secure payment to be made.

We would recommend that you complete the application online to ensure all of your details are correct. If you do require a paper entry form please email events@britishjudo.org.uk to request a copy.

Event Eligibility
This is a Level 3, Development event and is not open to the following:


· Any player who has been a member of any Home Countries Squad programme (including co-opted players) in the last three years.


· Any player who has won a medal at the British Championships (Pre cadet, Cadet or Junior) in the last three years. However this event is open to players that have medalled at the British Championships for 10/11 year olds.


Talent ID Staff from the Home Countries’ programmes will be at the championships and medallists
may be invited to attend the England Squad Area Training Sessions. Coaches from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are asked to respect this qualification and not enter over qualified players.


This event is open to all school children who comply with the criteria above. However, if the player is a member of an association other than the BJA, Judo Scotland, NIJF, WJA, AJA or BJC, players must send a copy of their association’s insurance policy to the BJA, Suite B, Loughborough Technology Centre, Epinal Way, Loughborough LE11 3GE. No entry can be accepted from such players without proof of insurance.


Players from Associations that do not have or cannot produce proof of insurance will be given the option of buying BJA temporary cover on the day, however the player/s entry into the event MUST have been received before the closing date for entries (Friday 24th February 2012).

Academic years 6 and 7: born 1 st Sept 1999 – 31 st Aug 2001 minimum grade – orange belt

 

Academic years 8 and 9: born 1 st Sept 1997 – 31 st Aug 1999 minimum grade – orange belt

Academic years 10 and 11: born 1 st Sept 1995 – 31 st Aug 1997 minimum grade – green belt

Academic years 12 and 13: born 1 st Sept 1993 – 31 st Aug 1995 minimum grade – blue belt

 

All coaches will be responsible for ensuring that their athletes are ready for this level of competition.

 

All players MUST bring their VALID judo membership and record book (licence) to the event.
