The British Judo Trust
is constantly striving to enhance the development of judo throughout
the UK. Last year alone, the Trust supported various projects
to the value of nearly £12,000.
Many clubs and individuals
have benefited from the support of the Trust, and have been able
to achieve their goals and plan for their development.
For the next 12 months,
the Trust will be concentrating on only supporting individuals
from a deprived and disadvantaged background, with the key criteria
of increasing physical activity and promotion of social interaction.
Previously, 80% of the
Trust’s grants went to clubs who submitted applications. Through
concentrating on supporting individuals, the Trust hopes to make
a difference to needy individuals wishing to develop themselves
through the sport of judo.
The Trust will still continue
to run its various fundraising initiatives, including a special
fundraising month, where clubs get the opportunity to organise
fun ways to raise money for the Trust and their own club on a
50/50 basis.
All information will be
detailed on the British Judo trust website – www.britishjudotrust.org.uk.
