Five-strong GB team selected for Tokyo Grand Slam and Qingdao Grand Prix

Great Britain has selected a five-strong team to tour Asia in December for the Tokyo Grand Slam and Qingdao Grand Prix.


The Tokyo Grand Slam, hailed as one of the most spectacular and competitive events on the IJF calendar, takes place from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 December with a training camp following from Monday 12 to Wednesday 14 December.


The team then moves onto China for the Qingdao Grand Prix which takes place from Friday 16 to Sunday 18.


GB World Cup gold medallist Ashley McKenzie has been selected at -60kg while European bronze medallist Colin Oates is included at -66kg.


In-form Colin Oates will be in action in Asia


Masters bronze medallist Euan Burton sees action in the -81kg category while Amsterdam Grand Prix bronze medallist Karina Bryant competes at +78kg.


Samoa World Cup bronze medallist Sarah Adlington completes the selection at +78kg.
