Final UK preparation camp and Olympic team 2008

The final preparation camp for the Beijing Olympics was held last week 24-27 July at Dartford.   Plenty of squad and non squad players travelled from all over the UK to Dartford, to ensure some high quality randori and support for the Olympic Team before they travel out to the Holding Camp in Macau and then on to Beijing for the Olympic Games.

The camp was very well supported and we would like to say BIG thank you to everyone who attended, plus a special thanks to the training partners who have assisted with the team’s preparation since the European Championships and also to all the coaches who have worked hard to prepare the players.

Also to acknowledge the fantastic support from the Institute’s of Sport across the network and the Judo Sports Science and Sports Medical Team, who have done such an excellent job in providing specialist support to the Olympic players in this final preparation period.

Finally a thank you to all those centres and their staff, who have hosted Olympic training and preparation camps in the last few months and been so accommodating; Edinburgh, Bisham, Walsall and Dartford.
