Brazil has announced
that they will send a team to compete in the 2009 GB World Cup
for men and women. As one of the top judo nations in the World,
Brazil boasts three current World Champions and won three medals
at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
Brazil’s announcement follows a successful
visit by the British team to Sao Paulo to compete in the invitational
International Team Challenge, against France and hosts Brazil.
If you want to catch Brazil,
and the other 37 countries expected to compete at Birmingham’s
National Indoor Arena on the 19th & 20th September, you have
just five days left to buy discounted member tickets.
Remember it is double the
action this year. The first ever to feature both men and women
it will be the biggest ever held in Britain. Already considered
one of the best staged tournaments in Europe, this year’s action
will take place over four mat areas and will be the judo event
of the year!
