Lydia Ritchie and Dianne White will look to make a mark in the -52kg and -57kg categories respectively.

Joyce Malley and Dawn Netherwood challenge the -63kg judoka while Sian Carr and Sarah Hopkins compete at -70kg.

Kate Chamberlain and fellow -78kg competitor Kay Andrews complete the British contingent.

Rowena Birch, Chairperson for the Masters Commission and BJA Board Director, said: “It is great to see so many of our Masters players competing at this prestigious event. One of the very special aspects of the Masters Judo event is that judoka who do not come from Performance backgrounds, get to compete directly against some of their heroes from the past, including World and Olympic medallists.

“Ex- international players get to dust of their judo suits and revisit the excitement of competitive judo, and as in any judo contest, the outcome is never certain, so we get to celebrate new champions too. There is a great sense of respect and comradeship amongst the competitors who travel from all over the World and through this, judo as a sport continues to develop through shared ideas and opportunities.”
