Communication from Patrick Roux, BJA Head Coach

Firstly I would like to congratulate the participants of this weekend’s English Open, despite the low numbers each contest was very promising.

However I would like to remind players and coaches of some simple competition guidelines:

•  Players should maintain a good level of decorum – win or lose

•  Players should not remove Judogi while still on the tatami.

•  Currently we have not elected to follow the IJF ruling on Matside coaching at our domestic ranking events, this can only remain the case if the coaches show the respect required to the opposition, referees and table officials

We will now be entering a period of preparation for the European Championships, next week we are at the BJPI in Dartford and we will welcome players from across the membership to join us for the National Randori sessions starting at 8.15pm on Monday and Wednesday- for further details please contact Karen Roberts- karenroberts@britishjudo.org.uk

Regards

Patrick Roux

Head Coach
