The Eastern Area will stage
Judo England’s trials for the 2012 Commonwealth Championships
on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 December at Breckland Leisure Centre
in Norfolk.
The event is sure to be
keenly contested as English standouts bid for a place at the Commonwealth
showpiece to be staged in Cardiff in January.
Eastern Area Chair and
Tournament Director Denise Oates said: “We are delighted to be
hosting this event and although we have hosted both the British
Masters and the A Band British Championships this will be our
largest event as we will be running over two days on three mats.
"This is the first
time the BJA has funded cadets junior and seniors and with two
players per category, Judo England will be sending over 90 players
to Wales in January.
"We’re hoping for
good numbers and I am already receiving entries in the post every
day.”
Denise Oates will run the
event alongside Eastern Area Secretary Michelle Camp and Vice
Chairman Stewart Collings.
Cadets will compete
on the Saturday while juniors and seniors will take to the mat
on the Sunday.
The closing date for
entry is Monday 28 November 2011. An entry form is available here
