Three medals for England at Cadet A Tournament n Teplice, Czech Republic

England’s accomplished cadet squad produced an impressive return at the Cadet A Tournament in Teplice, Czech Republic as they won two gold medals and one bronze on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 April.

The event attracted 630 players from 28 countries and showcased the world’s finest young judoka.

On Saturday, Hayley Willis battled her way to -44kg gold after an absorbing day’s judo.

On Sunday Katie-Jemima Yeats-Brown took gold at -63kg while Prisca Awiti-Alcaraz took silver in the -70kg category.

Jodie Myers took a hard-fought fifth-place in the +78kg category.

The impressive results saw England finish fourth in the medal table behind Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Hungary.

Trevor Sitlinton, head of the England delegation, said: “It’s really good to see our players move forward and that’s due to their dedication and the work of their personal coach’s and programme staff.

“We had a very good set of results and deserved to finish so high in the medal table.”
