Canada, Belgium, Slovakia,
Finland and Sweden have confirmed they will have judoka competing
in this year’s GB World Cup for Men and Women.
Belgium, who has recently
appointed Britain’s Olympic and World Championship medallist Neil
Adams as Head Coach, are sending a team of six women.
The 25-stong Canadian
team consists of 11 women and 14 men. Finland has committed a
team of four men and one woman and Sweden and Slovakia will be
sending one judoka each.
This brings the total
of international teams competing in the World Cup, so far, up
to ten, with previous confirmations from Brazil, Netherlands,
Germany, Russia and France. More countries are expected to confrim
after the World Championships.

available for the event, which will take place at Birmingham’s
National Indoor Arena on the 19th & 20th September.

As well as the action on
the mat, spectators will get the chance to meet a guest of honour
off the mat. Olympic gold medallist and three times World Champion
Kosei Inoue – arguably the greatest judoka of the last 10 years
will be conducting autograph signing sessions on both days on
the concourse.

Saturday: Women’s -48kg,
-52kg, -57kg, -63kg & Men’s -60kg, -66kg, -73kg
Sunday: Women’s -70kg,
-78kg, +78kg & Men’s -81kg, -90kg, -100kg, +100kg
