CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

JOB DESCRIPTION

Your role

•  To work with a voluntary Board of Directors and professional staff to promote and govern the sport of Judo in Scotland.

•  Monitor and evaluate performance in order to develop strategic and operational plans for the organisation

•  To be responsible for a small office based team and ensure that this staff complement is developed effectively to provide appropriate service to the membership.

•  To market and promote JudoScotland and identify new sources of income to ensure financial viability and growth of the business.

•  Responsible for risk management, governance and financial controls within the Association.

You should be:

 

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent

  • Experienced in managing a small/medium sized business not necessarily related to the voluntary sector or the sports industry.

  • Have served a minimum of five years in a senior management position

  • Strong business accumen including management of budgets and P&L accounts

  • Strategic planning experience and the ability to provide creative solutions to often difficult or sensitive problems.

  • Experience working with a voluntary Board of Directors

  • Experience in Change Management and Organisational Development processes

  • Significant fundraising experience or skills.

  • Highly developed presentation skills.

  • Good communication skills and a strong understanding of management level Information Technology issues.

  • Marketing or promotional experience and skills would be advantageous
