May Madness, British
Judo’s annual fundraising initiative for clubs, will return this
year with a range of prizes up for grabs.
The British Judo Association
encourages clubs to stage events such as fight nights, taster
evenings and sponsored throws - which have all proved popular
in recent years – as clubs raise funds for themselves and the
British Judo Trust.
To take part all your
club needs to do is send an email to info@britishjudotrust.org.uk
or contact Emma Davies-Carolan on 01509 631693. You’ll receive
a funding pack with templates on how to stage events and promote
them.
Prizes are up for grabs
for the clubs which raise the most money. The main prize is a
visit from BJA Chairman Densign White to take a session at your
club and 20 tickets to one day of the 2011 GB World Cup at the
in Echo Arena Liverpool on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 October.
The runner-up will receive
10 tickets to one day of the all-important GB World Cup, which
this year sees the return of the men.
All clubs who take part
in May Madness will feature in a special edition of Matside in
July.
