Notice to female coaches for 2012

Interested in becoming a coach or improving your existing coaching qualification? If so we would like to hear from you!

The British Judo Association is committed to providing opportunities female judoka to move into coaching and for existing coaches to progress up the coach education pathway. We believe it is important that we create more confident female coaches working to their full capacity in clubs and all other levels of the sport. We believe education is a key ingredient which will allow us to achieve this.

Over the next few years, as part of the BJA's ‘Women and Girls Initiative', we are able to significantly subsidise coach education for appropriately qualified female judoka with special emphasis on participation in UKCC Level 1, UKCC Level 2 and Instructor Award courses. To start off 2012, we have a UKCC L1 course for female judoka only, in March 2012. Future course for UKCC L2 and Instructors Award are in the planning stages. Dates will be set for additional courses based on the responses received.

Places are limited on this first course, and these will be allocated to those who reply first, providing they meet the criteria – see BJA web for information: http://www.britishjudo.org.uk/technical/coaching_home.php

If any current BJA female coaches or potential coaches would like to take part in these opportunities please complete the application attached and send to Kerry Finney (address on application). Please contact me by e-mail at kerry.finney@britishjudo.org.uk or on 07967778121 if you require further information - enquiries and questions welcomed. No matter what your level or experience we would like to hear from you.
