The shortlist for the 2010-2011
British Judo Player Awards has been announced. The Volunteer &
Player Awards this year will take place in Liverpool on Saturday
1 st October and the BJA public are invited to vote for their
favourite Players of the Year.
The shortlist is compiled
of those players who have achieved the highest level of results
at key performance events throughout the year (1st July 2010 -
30th June 2011).
Those on the junior shortlists
must have competed in key junior international performance events
during that period to be eligible for the junior categories.
All shortlisted players
must be on the British Judo Performance programme.
Voting opens on Friday
12th August and closes on Friday 26th August
at midnight. Vote and also be in with a chance of winning
a family ticket (2 Adults and up to 3 Children) for either Saturday
or Sunday to the 2011 GB World Cup.

As well as the above five awards,
on the night Player Awards will also be presented for Players
Player of the Year (voted for by the British Squad), Most Improved
Male and Female British Squad Players of the Year (voted for by
the Performance Directorate), Most Improved Paralympic Squad Player
of the Year (voted for by the Performance Directorate), and Masters
Player of the Year (voted for by Masters Commission).
The BJA Awards Dinner will
be held on the evening of Saturday 1 st October at St Georges
Hall, Liverpool. Don’t miss your chance to be at the event where
as well as the Player Awards, a whole host of Awards will be presented
to Volunteers who have made a valuable contribution throughout
the last 12 months.
The Awards Dinner coincides
with this year’s GB World Cup for Men, which takes place at the
Echo Arena Liverpool.
The evening begins at 7pm with a drinks
reception, followed by a four-course sit down meal.

Alternatively reserving
a table at the BJA Awards Dinner offers you the chance to enjoy
a great night out with a group of friends/colleagues, whilst also
celebrating the achievements of the key players and volunteers
within British Judo.
A limited number of tickets
and tables are available and they will be allocated on a first
come first served basis.
