British Judo utilises Domestic Ranking List to select Olympic Test Event team

British Judo has utilised the Domestic Ranking List to select a team for the Olympic Test Event at the Excel London on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 December.

LOCOG (London Organising Committee of Olympic Games and Paralympic Games) will be replicating day three (-57kg, -73kg) and day five (-70kg, -90kg) of the Olympic programme. Teams have been invited to enter one athlete per category except Great Britain who can enter more.

LOCOG expects around 100 athletes, 50 officials, 30 national technical officials, 39 international technical officials and 90 volunteers to join the Judo Team to make the test event run smoothly.

While the two-day event is run with the sole purpose of a rehearsal for the organisers, the competitors will undoubtedly benefit from the invaluable experience on offer.

Meanwhile five British judoka have been selected for a December tour of Asia which will see them compete at the Tokyo Grand Slam and Qingdao Grand Prix. Ashley McKenzie, Colin Oates, Euan Burton, Sarah Adlington and Karina Bryant will all battle in Asia.
