Vale Judo Club raises £120 for Comic Relief

Great fun was had by Vale Judo Club on Tuesday 10th March 2009 when they held a ‘something funny for money’ event at their club. The club in Oakham, Rutland held a red nose judo class with over 100 members.

The judoka warmed up and played a few games with their Comic Relief red noses on. £120 was raised and donated to Comic Relief.

Mick Newton, Vale Judo Club, said, "The club felt that it was important that club members had some fun and contributed to comic relief. As a club we have benefited from funding that has helped us gain such a great training facility and there are so many other great causes that would benefit from fund raising".

Below is a selection of Vale Judo Club’s red nose judo class pictures:

The BJA head office staff also got into the spirit of Comic Relief by having a red Friday, where staff wore red and entered into the comic relief poster competition supplied in the fundraising pack.

The BJA would like to say a huge well done to all those who participated in Comic Relief activities and raised money for such a valuable cause.
