Dartford Judo Club
will be running a two year academic and judo programme for current
Year 11 students, which is scheduled to begin in September '07.
The Advanced Apprenticeship
Programme is aimed at judo players of a high calibre, who wish
to stay in College Study, while at the same time being able
to pursue their judo career both evenings and during the day.
They are proposing
to run the programme in conjunction with the BJA, with the course
being run at Dartford Judo Club, and with their partner FE College,
North West Kent College.
The Course Content
will enable suitable candidates to study an Academic Course,
such as the BTEC National Certificate Sport (Performance and
Excellence Pathway), together with the AASE Course, which is
an NVQ Level 3, and success in the programme will give the students
a level of education which will be accepted by many Universities,
including Dartford's partner, the University of Greenwich, for
entry to their Degree Courses. There will be a large proportion
of time which will be allocated to judo, with all its many aspects
of training and competition.
Any people who are
interested in applying for this course should contact Alan Roberts
in the first instance, on 07956 917576, or e-mail alanrobertsjudo@aol.com
There is a limit on
the number of students who will be accepted, so please register
your interest as soon as possible.
