Amy Livesey captured
judo bronze in the -63kg category at the European Youth Olympic
Festival.
The 15-year-old from
St Helens won her first four fights in the early rounds but was
beat in her semi final by Holland's Michelle Schelleken, leaving
her in the repeachage and the chance to go for bronze.
And it was a chance
she grabbed with both hands - easing to a win over Ukraine's Nastasiya
Kalamiychuk to take her place on the podium.
Elsewhere current Welsh
junior and senior national champion Demi Brooks lost out in her
bronze medal match to Serbia's Ivana Jandric.
The 16-year-old eased
through her opening two bouts but met her match in her semi final
against Valeria Ferrari before sinking to Jandric.
