This Saturday and Sunday (14-15 October) Sheffield will host the 2006 Junior National Age Band Championships, which will see over 650 talented judo players competing to earn the National Age Band titles.

The Championships , which are supported by Sheffield City Council's Major Sports Events Unit, are being held at iceSheffield for the second consecutive year and will be an opportunity to watch some of Great Britain’s top young sporting talent in action.

The tournament is categorised into weight and age groups, with the winners becoming National Champions and automatically taking a place on the British Judo World Class Start Squad.

The competitors will travel to the Championships from throughout England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, with just two of the young hopefuls, from Sheffield, competing closer to home.
