We
are looking to appoint someone who can effectively manage the
delivery of the High Performance Sessions held at the National
Judo Centre, Ratho and who can provide coaching support to Judo
athletes supported through the Judo Scotland Performance Plan,
as directed by the Scottish Institute of Sport Judo High Performance
Coach. The postholder will also hold the post of Scottish Assistant
or National Coach at appropriate and agreed events.

The
successful applicant will:
Deliver the technical coaching programme for
the High Performance sessions.
Ensure the East Area Institute weekly sessions
run effectively and that they have sufficient coaching staff to
run at all times.
To ensure that the technical programme for
the High Performance Sessions is agreed and planned to provide
relevant technical content for the athletes to develop them to
achieve the aims set out within the Judo Scotland Performance
Plan. Also to ensure that relevant athletes/coaches are aware
of and attend the sessions and record attendances and report back
to the Scottish Institute of Sport Judo High Performance Coach.
To assist the Scottish Institute of Sport Judo
High Performance Coach to manage, co-ordinate and evaluate the
programme of support for athletes identified through the Scottish
Institute of Sport including advising on selection/deselection
of athletes, prepare and mange periodised programmes for athletes.
Lead daily and weekly programmes for elite
judo players supported by the Judo Scotland Performance Plan and
work with athletes to assist them in producing personal judo development
plans.
Plan and deliver training camps for identified
athletes.
Report on development of the programme and
players to the Judo High Performance Coach.
The
successful applicant should have:
Proven experience of working with Elite level
judo athletes, both male and female.
BJA Coaching Licence including BJA level 3
coaching qualification or international qualification.
Proven experience of the ability to effectively
manage elements of a performance programme.
Experience in the development of individual
athletes and proven knowledge of demands, pressure and the needs
of elite athletes and coaches.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of the
technical, tactical skills and fitness levels required for athletes
to aspire to and succeed at international level with a passion
for Scottish sporting achievement and a personal commitment to
excellence.
An innovative approach through a demonstrated
ability to “think out of the box” and suggest creative solutions,
leading to successful implementation.
Full UK driving licence and appropriate documentation
to enable working in the UK and worldwide.
