IAN ROSE HAS BEEN NAMED AS A SPORTING CHAMPION

Current Paralympic silver medallist Ian Rose has been named Sport England Sporting Champion for August.

The scheme, which is supported and funded by Sport England, allows world-class athletes to go into schools and sporting clubs and give inspirational speeches. It is aimed at motivating young people to participate in sport as a lifelong activity.

Other athletes previously named Sporting Champion are Lawrence Dallagio MBE and Sir Steve Redgrave. Ian now stands alongside these great athletes as inspiring young children to take up sport.
