The British Judo Association (BJA), with the support of Sport England, is seeking high calibre candidates for the post of Volunteer Development Manager with responsibility of developing the Step In To Sport Judo programme.

An enthusiastic, energetic Development Officer, responsible to the Head of Operations, is required to implement and review the recently published BJA Volunteer Strategy 2005 – 2009 and to develop a Judo specific Step In To Sport programme. The successful applicant will work closely with the Association’s large volunteer base through a range of partnerships with BJA Area Committees, clubs and Sports Partnerships.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in volunteer development and not necessarily from within sport and be able to demonstrate organisational and administrative ability, a high level of self-motivation and the ability to inspire others. Knowledge and understanding of the Volunteer Management processes, training and funding programmes associated with is required. Excellent communications and IT skills, and the willingness to work flexible hours are also essential requirements. This is a key position within the BJA and it offers exceptional opportunities for advancement, both professional and financial, to the right candidate.
